Los Angeles, July 17: Pop icon Ariana Grande has reassured fans that she’s not stepping away from her music career, despite her recent flurry of acting roles and film projects. In a heartfelt Instagram message, the 32-year-old singer clarified that music remains central to her life.
“Very silly of you all to assume that just because I have my hands full with many things that I plan to abandon singing & music … !!! It is and has always been my lifeline,” Grande wrote.
Acknowledging that her artistic journey may be evolving, she added:
“It may not look exactly like it did before but I much prefer how it looks in my head… I’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year. Even if it’s just for a little. I love you.”
Balancing Music and Film
Grande’s comments come just after she was confirmed to star in the animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”, directed by Wicked filmmaker Jon M. Chu. The movie, which also features Josh Gad, is set for release in 2028 and will include original music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman).
Earlier this year, Grande earned her first Oscar nomination for her role as Glinda in the upcoming Wicked film adaptation. She also topped the Billboard 200 with the deluxe edition of her recent album Eternal Sunshine.
In addition, she’s joining the cast of Meet the Parents 4, starring alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, marking yet another major film role on her growing résumé.
What’s Next?
While she hasn’t confirmed a full tour or new album just yet, her promise to “sing for you all next year” has sparked optimism among fans. Grande is focused on finding a new balance between her musical roots and Hollywood opportunities—on her own terms.
