Washington DC [US], July 16: Ariana Grande and Josh Gad are set to lead the voice cast in the animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ beloved book Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, directed by Jon M. Chu and Jill Culton, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
The animated musical, slated for theatrical release on March 17, 2028, is being developed by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. The script is penned by Rob Lieber, and the film will feature original songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the acclaimed songwriting duo behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman.
The story centers on a young adventurer’s journey through the highs and lows of life, echoing the uplifting and inspirational tone of the original 1990 book — the final one published by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel) before his death in 1991.
The film is being produced by J.J. Abrams and Gregg Taylor under the Bad Robot banner, as part of a larger deal between Warner Animation Group and Dr. Seuss Enterprises signed in 2018 to bring several of Seuss’ classics to the big screen.
Courtenay Valenti, president of production and development at Warner Bros. Pictures, expressed excitement over the project, stating, “We are beyond thrilled to bring one of the most beloved Dr. Seuss books to life for so many generations of Seuss fans. The pairing of this classic title, with the creative excellence of Jon Chu and Bad Robot defines what we at WB try to achieve.”

- Josh Gad will star in and produce Spaceballs 2 for Amazon.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has also scheduled another animated Dr. Seuss adaptation — The Cat in the Hat — for release on February 27, 2026.
