Are 3 Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorists Trapped in Kathua Encounter?

An encounter has broken out between security forces and terrorists believed to be Pakistan-linked in a remote village of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti, the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kathua engaged the terrorists in the forest of Kamadh Nullah. Three terrorists associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are believed to be hiding and are currently in a standoff with security forces.

The operation began in the evening at Kahog village of Billawar, following intelligence about the presence of two to three militants. PTI sources reported that around 4 pm, a terrorist was sighted by locals at Kamad Nallah, which could be the same individual spotted earlier in the day at Dhannu Parole.

Authorities continue the search-and-engagement operation to neutralize the threat.
