Cairo [Egypt]: Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, urged the global community to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people through meaningful international action addressing legal, humanitarian, and ethical responsibilities.
On the occasion of the 47th International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on November 29, Al Yamahi called on nations, parliaments, and human rights organizations worldwide to take decisive steps to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.
Key Appeals
In his statement, Al Yamahi pressed United Nations member states to transform their expressions of solidarity into tangible measures, including:
- Full international recognition of the State of Palestine.
- Urging nations that have yet to recognize Palestine to do so.
“The path to security, peace, and stability in the region and the world lies in resolving the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy,” he affirmed.
He emphasized the immediate need for:
- A ceasefire in Gaza.
- An end to aggression and violations in the West Bank.
A Call for Global Action
Al Yamahi appealed to “free nations,” regional and international parliaments, and human rights bodies to uphold their responsibilities and take concrete measures to address the ongoing crisis. He reiterated that the international community must act in accordance with legal and ethical imperatives to advance peace and stability in the region.
