Davos (Switzerland): On the third day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is engaged in a day of strategic discussions focused on transforming the state into a global investment hub. With a packed agenda, the Chief Minister aims to propel the state toward a future defined by sustainable development, cutting-edge innovation, and inclusive growth.
Naidu is set to meet with top executives from leading global companies, including Unilever, DP World Group, Petronas, Google Cloud, PepsiCo, and AstraZeneca, to explore investment opportunities and forge strategic partnerships. These discussions highlight the state’s commitment to advancing sectors like renewable energy, agriculture, and advanced technology.
A key highlight of Naidu’s schedule is his meeting with philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, alongside representatives of the World Economic Forum. These discussions aim to tap into global expertise to support Andhra Pradesh’s socio-economic development goals.
The day will also feature the signing of a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Greenko, marking a critical step in the state’s renewable energy initiatives. This agreement underscores Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to sustainable and green energy solutions, which are at the core of the Chief Minister’s vision.
Further aligning with the state’s sustainability goals, Naidu will participate in roundtable discussions on topics such as natural farming, human mission collaboration, green hydrogen, and renewable energy. On Tuesday, Naidu also announced a major Rs 1.4 lakh crore investment by ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel for a 17.8-million-ton integrated steel project in Anakapalli. Additionally, State Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh urged Mittal to consider Bhavanapadu as a world-class petrochemical hub, citing the region’s planned port capacity, robust infrastructure, and existing research facilities in Vizag as key advantages. Lokesh also proposed a Rs 3,500 crore investment in a solar cell manufacturing plant, which is expected to generate 2,000 jobs, receiving a positive response from stakeholders.
