Dubai [UAE], March 9: Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was spotted cheering for her husband, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, during India’s match against New Zealand in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. In videos circulating on social media, Anushka was seen in the stands, dressed in a denim shirt and jeans, as she waved at Virat, who acknowledged her from the field before the match commenced.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. They started strong with a 57-run partnership between Will Young (15) and Rachin Ravindra (37 off 29 balls, including four boundaries and a six). However, India’s Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) provided a breakthrough, reducing New Zealand to 75/3.
A 57-run partnership between Daryl Mitchell (63 off 101 balls, with three fours) and Michael Bracewell pushed New Zealand toward a total of 150-plus. Bracewell played an excellent knock of 53* off 40 balls, with three fours and two sixes, helping New Zealand reach 251/7 in their 50 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/45) were the top wicket-takers for India. Mohammed Shami also claimed a wicket but conceded 74 runs in his nine overs.
India will now need 252 runs to win and secure their third ICC Champions Trophy title, with the slow conditions providing a challenging chase.
