Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma took to her Instagram handle on Wednesday to share a heartfelt tribute to her husband, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, after he slammed his second consecutive century in the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series against South Africa.
Kohli achieved the magnificent milestone during the second ODI held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, where he scored 102 runs off 93 balls (including seven fours and two sixes) to power India to a formidable total of 358/5. This knock followed his superb innings of 135 runs in the first ODI in Ranchi.
A Simple, Sweet Tribute
The actor, currently spending time with their two children, Vamika and Akaay, in London, was clearly tuned in to the match. She posted a picture on her Instagram Stories capturing the moment of Kohli’s celebration.
The photograph showed the cricketer raising his bat and helmet towards the roaring Raipur crowd. Anushka kept the caption simple but potent, adding a single red heart emoji to show her pride and love for her husband.

Kohli’s own celebration following his 53rd ODI century (and 84th international century overall) was equally touching. After completing his ton, the batter kissed the wedding ring he wears on a chain around his neck and looked up at the sky, a widely recognized gesture of tribute to his wife and family.
Reigniting Record Chase
Kohli’s back-to-back hundreds mark the 11th instance of him scoring successive ODI centuries, a record in the history of the format, surpassing former South African batter AB de Villiers. His century was crucial in forming a record-breaking 195-run partnership for the third wicket with Ruturaj Gaikwad (105), setting the stage for India to aim for a series victory.
The couple, who married in a private ceremony in Italy in December 2017, remain intensely supportive of each other’s professional lives, even as they prioritize privacy while raising their children in the UK.
