Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 18: Anupam Kher’s highly anticipated film Tanvi The Great had its grand Mumbai premiere at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on Thursday evening, ahead of its theatrical release on July 18, 2025.
The red carpet event was graced by an array of Bollywood celebrities and well-wishers, making it a glittering affair. Veteran actress Kirron Kher arrived with son Sikandar Kher, while industry icons Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan, Krushna Abhishek, Tiku Sharda, and Gulshan Grover also attended. Grover turned heads in a maroon suit, posing for the cameras, while singer Anup Jalota and other notable personalities like Sundhi Chauhan joined in the celebrations.
A special highlight of the evening was the appearance of Tanvi, Anupam Kher’s niece and a key inspiration behind the film. She posed alongside the debut lead Shubhangi Dutt and Anupam Kher, symbolizing the film’s personal connection for the veteran actor-director.
Prior to the Mumbai premiere, an exclusive screening was held in Delhi, attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who praised the film as “inspirational” and “heart-touching.” She expressed a desire to arrange special screenings for children across Delhi, noting the film’s impactful message around autism and patriotism.
“This theme is so beautiful and relevant—it’s essential for every child in the country and the world to watch this movie. It touches on emotions that often go unnoticed,” Gupta said, congratulating Kher and the team for tackling a powerful subject.
Featuring a talented ensemble including Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, and Karan Tacker, Tanvi The Great explores the life of an autistic girl and her connection with the Indian Army. The film has already received international acclaim at festivals in Cannes, New York, Houston, and London, and earned standing ovations during previews at the National Defence Academy and Southern Command in Pune.
