His upcoming directorial venture, ‘Tanvi The Great’, has been receiving overwhelming appreciation since the release of its emotional trailer, and now, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has joined in to show his support.

On Wednesday, Akshay Kumar shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, applauding the trailer of Tanvi The Great. He wrote:
“A little late to the party, but so glad I watched this. Tanvi The Great is a moving, emotional ride that truly had me in tears and rooting with my all heart for Tanvi. Wishing my dear friend Anupam Kher and the entire team, all the love for this beautiful film. Can’t wait to watch it on the big screen.”
Emotional Impact at Cannes
The film, which follows the journey of Tanvi Raina, a young girl inspired by her late father’s military service, made a strong impression at its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Speaking to ANI, Kher shared his emotional experience:
“I was very overwhelmed by the reaction of people. They were clapping in between because the theme of the film resonated with them. They were crying, laughing at the end of the film. They didn’t want to leave. They were asking questions. It’s a beautiful feeling.”
Struggles Behind the Scenes
Despite its growing acclaim, Tanvi The Great faced numerous hurdles during production. Kher revealed that some financiers pulled out at the last moment, but his personal conviction kept the project alive:
“The success of the film on an international platform like Cannes and then in London proves that if you do something with conviction against all odds, it is the most gratifying feeling… I have to make it because it’s my conviction.”
Star-Studded Cast and Release Date
The film stars Pallavi Joshi, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen. Produced by Anupam Kher Studios in association with NFDC, Tanvi The Great is set for a worldwide theatrical release on July 18, 2025.
