Anupam Kher Shares Emotional Video Amid Blackout In Jammu As India-Pakistan Tensions Escalate

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, veteran actor Anupam Kher shared a heartfelt video received from his cousin living in Jammu, highlighting the tense atmosphere and ongoing security measures in the region.

The video, sent by Kher’s cousin Sunil Kher, showed a complete blackout in the area—part of precautionary measures due to recent security developments. Concerned, the actor immediately called his cousin to check on his well-being.

In a touching exchange, Sunil reassured Kher of his safety and expressed unwavering faith in the Indian Army. Sharing the video on social media platform X, Kher wrote, “My cousin brother #SunilKher sent this video from his home in Jammu. I called immediately and asked him if he and his family are ok? He laughed a little proudly and said, ‘Bhaiya! Hum Bharat mein hain! Hum Hindustani hain. Hamari suraksha Bharatiya Sena aur Mata Vaishno Devi kar rahi hain. Aap tension mat lo. Waise bhi koi bhi missile hum zameen par nahi lagne de rahe.’ Jai Mata Ki! Bharat Mata Ki Jai!”

Defence sources reported that Pakistan launched eight missiles targeting Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, all of which were successfully intercepted by Indian air defence systems. This came shortly after India launched Operation Sindoor, a large-scale counter-terror mission following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 Indian nationals.

Security experts likened the barrage of missile attempts to tactics used by Hamas against Israel, accusing the Pakistan Army of mirroring such terror strategies. Reports also emerged of a secret meeting between ISI and Hamas in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir last month.

Explosions were heard in Udhampur, where Indian forces intercepted Pakistani drones. Similar drone incursions and aerial interceptions occurred in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, with visible flashes and sounds of explosions in the sky.

Blackouts have been enforced across multiple regions, including Bikaner (Rajasthan), Jalandhar (Punjab), and parts of Jammu and Kashmir such as Kishtwar, Akhnoor, Samba, and Jammu city, as well as Amritsar.
