New Delhi [India], April 2: Veteran actor Anupam Kher is set to don the director’s hat once again with his upcoming film, Tanvi The Great. Kher opened up about the challenges he faced while making the film and revealed that he self-funded the project without seeking financial backing from studios or investors.
“I did not go to any studio to ask for funds, I did not look for any financier. Whoever has financed the film in the beginning… gradually, you will get to know these stories. It hasn’t been an easy task. But because the theme is about resilience, struggle, and courage, I had to show that same courage as a producer and director,” Kher shared.
Reflecting on the journey, he admitted that taking the independent route was difficult but deeply rewarding. “When you walk on the path of your own conviction, it is a lonely one. But in the end, you realize that the product I have created is mine.”
On Tuesday, Kher became emotional as he announced the film on Instagram. Addressing his tears, he said, “Those tears were for the fact that the journey was difficult, but it was good.”
Currently in Germany working on his next film’s script, Kher revealed that he is collaborating with a writer there and will share more details about the project later.
Tanvi The Great boasts an impressive lineup of talent, with music composed by Oscar-winning RRR composer MM Keeravani and sound design by Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty (Slumdog Millionaire). Adding to the film’s international appeal, Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen is also part of the cast.
