Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 15: Veteran actor Anupam Kher moved fans on Father’s Day with an emotional tribute to his late father, Pushkar Nath, through a deeply personal video posted on social media.
In the self-recorded video shared on Instagram, Kher reflected on the lasting influence of his father’s kindness, humility, and wisdom. “Today is officially Father’s Day, but I couldn’t find any quote or poem that could capture who my father was,” he said, visibly moved.
Describing Pushkar Nath as the “kindest father” who never raised his voice and always led with encouragement and positivity, Kher added, “He was my biggest fan,” recalling how his father would proudly support him—even during his weaker performances.
One of the core life lessons imparted by his father, Kher shared, was: “Failure is an event, not a person.” This simple yet powerful mantra helped shape Kher’s resilient and joyful outlook on life, which he now sums up with, “The easiest thing in the world is to make someone happy.”
In the video, Kher also recounted the deeply personal memory of his father’s final moments. Unable to write due to illness, Pushkar Nath whispered two parting words into his son’s ear: “Live life.” Kher described this as the most profound wisdom he has ever received—one that continues to guide his journey.
In the caption, he wrote: “My dad #Pushkarnath was an ordinary man!! But dad he was extraordinary! On the bed of ‘death’, he gave me the greatest knowledge of ‘life’. This will be the form of God to me! Happy Father’s Day to all of you! Hail to all the good dads in the world!”
On the work front, Anupam Kher is gearing up for the release of his directorial venture Tanvi The Great, set to hit theatres on July 18, and will also appear in the ensemble drama Metro… In Dino, releasing on July 4. Additionally, he is set to release his fourth book, Different But No Less, which will offer deeper insights into his life and philosophy.
