Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 12: Bollywood actor Anupam Kher paid tribute to the late actor Satish Kaushik by celebrating his legacy and sharing a video of his transformation for the role of former Deputy Prime Minister Jagjivan Ram in the upcoming film Emergency.
Anupam Kher took to Instagram to post a heartfelt video in which Satish Kaushik discusses his role in the film, directed by Kangana Ranaut. The movie also stars Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade in key roles, alongside Satish Kaushik. In the video, Satish reflects on his role as Jagjivan Ram, calling himself fortunate to play such an iconic figure, and praised Kangana Ranaut for being an “actor’s director.”
The video also showcases the transformation of Satish Kaushik from actor to Jagjivan Ram through an intricate makeup process. Satish Kaushik shared his thoughts on portraying a renowned personality, acknowledging the challenge of balancing his own interpretation with the public’s perception of the leader.

Satish Kaushik, who passed away at the age of 66 last year due to a heart attack, had a profound impact on Anupam Kher. Reflecting on their deep friendship, Anupam shared, “Both of us came from lower-middle-class families. We take pride in the fact that we made our name on our own. This city, Mumbai, gave us the chance to excel. It’s hard for me to deal with his loss. He was always witty and light-hearted. People could learn a lot from him about how to live a generous life. I will always regret that he left us too soon. He was a brilliant actor who touched so many lives.”
Meanwhile, Anupam Kher is set to appear in Emergency, directed by Kangana Ranaut, which is scheduled for release on January 17. Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari attended a special screening of the film in Nagpur, where he praised the team for presenting a significant period of India’s history with authenticity and excellence. On social media, he urged everyone to watch the film, calling it a powerful portrayal of a dark chapter in the nation’s past.
The highly anticipated film Emergency will hit theaters on January 17.
