New Delhi [India], May 31: Veteran actor Anupam Kher praised Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for her candid and heartfelt responses during the Delhi government’s special event ‘100 Din Seva Ke’, commemorating 100 days of BJP governance in the capital.
Kher shared that the questions he posed to the Chief Minister were gathered from his own circle of relatives, friends, and Delhi residents, ensuring that the concerns voiced were truly representative of the public.
“My questions were the questions of the public of Delhi… She (Delhi CM Rekha Gupta) answered them truthfully and vocally… I hope that what she spoke about today with truth resonates even after four years of her completion,” he said.
During their public interaction, CM Rekha Gupta detailed her government’s accomplishments in its first 100 days, and did not shy away from sharply criticizing her predecessors. Referring to the AAP government, she said:
“When the movement started from Ramlila Maidan, thousands and lakhs of people joined it… Everyone supported it, thinking something better would happen in Delhi and the country. But those who claimed they weren’t greedy for power became so power-hungry that they lost sight of everything else. In contrast, my cabinet, our MLAs, and public representatives continuously work on the streets among the people.”
The Chief Minister also denounced the previous government’s alleged disrespect toward the Indian Armed Forces, saying:
“I feel very sad when I think about those people who used to sit in the Chief Minister’s chair and questioned the valor of our Armed Forces, even joining hands with enemies of the nation.”
Highlighting ‘Operation Sindoor’, CM Gupta credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Armed Forces for empowering women and enhancing national pride.
“All the women of the nation salute the armed forces for destroying terrorist sites in enemy territory. The bravery shown has strengthened the pride of Indian women,” she added.
To conclude the emotional address, Rekha Gupta recited a self-composed poem titled “I Am Sindoor Too”, which celebrated feminine strength, sacrifice, and patriotism:
“I am patient in silence, I am brave in challenge. Yes, I am Sindoor too. I am the slaughterer of terrorists, I am the limit of courage, I am Jeevan Daatri, I am Sahar’s Sakshi, I am Vermilion. I am the gift of every daughter-in-law. I am India’s tomorrow, and today I am Hindustani modesty. Yes, I am Sindoor.”
The event highlighted the BJP government’s effort to combine governance with grassroots engagement, while affirming nationalistic values and women’s empowerment.
