Antony’s Move To Real Betis Collapses As Spanish Club Withdraws Offer

MANCHESTER – Real Betis, a Spanish club, announced on Friday that they were no longer interested in signing Manchester United winger Antony. This put a stop to plans for his transfer. This fresh twist in the transfer situation came just hours after reports from Manchester United said that the English club had agreed to a permanent transfer offer.

Real Betis was very clear in their official statement: “There is no deal for Antony, and we have pulled the offer.” We can’t pay the fee or the money that Manchester United has to pay the player before the transfer. Sources told media that United had agreed to a rumored transfer package of up to £25 million, but Betis pulled the offer because of the exorbitant costs associated with the move, especially Antony’s wages.

This change puts Antony’s future at Old Trafford in doubt. Since moving from Ajax to Manchester United for £86 million in 2022, the Brazilian winger has had a hard time. He is the second most expensive signing in the club’s history, after Paul Pogba. Even though he costs a lot of money, Antony hasn’t been able to make a big difference But his form got a lot better when he went on loan to Real Betis for the second part of last season. Antony scored nine goals and set up five more in 26 games, which impressed the Spanish club and its fans and helped them go to the Conference League final. When he came back to United this summer, they told him to train away from the first team. This showed that manager Rúben Amorim thought he was no longer needed.

As the transfer window nears its end, Antony’s future is still up in the air. It was said that he had been given the all-ahead to go to Seville to talk about personal terms, but the difference between the player’s demands and Betis’s budget has put the move on hold. United was willing to lose a lot of money on their first investment, but now they have to find a new home for the player or retain him on their books, where he is no longer needed.
