A Hindu man was shot dead in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district, just days after the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, according to a report by news agency ANI. The incident has raised fresh concerns amid heightened tensions in the region.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Bajendra Biswas, was allegedly shot by a colleague in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh. Local media reports said the accused, Noman Mia, has been arrested in connection with the killing.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No official statement has yet indicated whether the crime was linked to communal motives, but the incident comes close on the heels of the Dipu Chandra Das lynching, which had already triggered widespread outrage.
