Anna Kendrick Expected To Return For ‘The Accountant 3’, Confirms Director Gavin O’Connor

Washington DC [US]: Actress Anna Kendrick, who is noticeably absent from the newly released sequel of The Accountant starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, is expected to reprise her role in the third installment of the franchise, according to Variety.

Director Gavin O’Connor confirmed to The New York Times, as cited by Variety, that discussions are underway for a third film, and Kendrick is on board to return as Dana Cummings, Christian Wolff’s love interest. “One thing we’ve talked about is the idea of bringing Anna Kendrick back. Maybe Christian can finally get the love that he deserves,” O’Connor stated.

Ben Affleck, who plays the titular character, joined the conversation lightheartedly, saying, “We’re hoping she still likes us.” O’Connor replied, “Actually, Ben, she and I have been texting. She said she’s a hundred percent in if we want.”

O’Connor has long envisioned The Accountant as a trilogy, and previously told Entertainment Weekly that Christian Wolff’s story arc requires three films for full resolution.

The current sequel sees Affleck’s character team up with his on-screen brother, played by Jon Bernthal, to unravel the murder of a close friend, which leads them into a dangerous conspiracy. The film, packed with intense action sequences, continues to showcase Wolff’s unique blend of mathematical genius and deadly combat skills.
