Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 23: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has alleged that the resurfacing of the Disha Salian case is part of a larger conspiracy aimed at defaming Aditya Thackeray.
Speaking to ANI, Deshmukh remarked, “The Disha Salian case, which has been brought forward, is a conspiracy to defame Aditya Thackeray.”
This statement comes after Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, approached the Bombay High Court, seeking a fresh probe into his daughter’s death and requesting the registration of an FIR against Aditya Thackeray, among others.
Disha Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, just days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his flat in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14, 2020.
BJP MLA from Ghatkopar West, Ram Kadam, also weighed in on the matter, accusing the former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s government of negligence in the investigation into Rajput’s death.
In a video posted by Kadam, he claimed, “When the entire country was demanding that Sushant Singh Rajput’s case be handed over to CBI, Uddhav Thackeray government deliberately showed negligence. When Bihar Police came to Mumbai for investigation, they too were stopped. What was the reason? To save the people of Uddhav Thackeray government, all evidence was erased.”
Kadam further criticized Uddhav Thackeray, holding him responsible for the lack of justice for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family, stating, “Had Uddhav Thackeray handed over the case to CBI at the right time, Sushant’s family would have definitely received justice. If they are not getting justice today, Uddhav Thackeray government is responsible for it.”
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently submitted a closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case on March 18, nearly five years after his death. Rajput’s postmortem report indicated asphyxia as the cause of death.
