Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) [India]:Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has announced that by June 30, 500 government services will be accessible through WhatsApp via the Mana Mitra platform, revolutionizing digital governance in the state.
As per an official release, this initiative will integrate all payments into a single platform and introduce AI-powered chatbots to enable voice-based service requests, including bus ticket bookings and other essential services. The WhatsApp services will soon expand to support multiple languages beyond English, Hindi, and Telugu.
“So far, 77 endowment services have been launched through Mana Mitra. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to integrate Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) services into the platform within 30 days,” the statement added.
Key Achievements of Mana Mitra
- Since January 2025, Mana Mitra has facilitated over 5.1 million transactions, benefiting 2.5 million citizens.
- Students can now download their hall tickets from home, eliminating the need to visit schools.
- Moving forward, student results will also be sent via WhatsApp in real-time.
Future Developments
- By June 30, AI-powered voice-enabled services will be introduced, enhancing accessibility.
- Business-to-Government (G2B) services, such as incentives and permissions, will also be added to promote transparency.
Lokesh emphasized that governance should focus on delivering services directly to citizens without bureaucratic delays.
“Governance should not be about offices and bureaucracy, but about delivering real services to people’s pockets,” he stated.
He added that Andhra Pradesh will remain a leader in digital governance, drawing inspiration from successful models in Estonia, UAE, and Singapore. Government teams will study these international best practices to ensure Mana Mitra becomes the world’s most advanced public service platform.
Lokesh concluded by assuring that the integration of all government services into WhatsApp will mark one of India’s most significant governance reforms.
