Washington [US], April 16: After a two-year break, And Just Like That is officially making its return with Season 3 premiering May 29 on Max, the streaming platform announced. The Sex and the City revival continues to follow the iconic trio—Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis)—as they navigate the complexities of life, love, and friendship in contemporary New York.
A newly released trailer teases major developments, particularly for Carrie and her rekindled romance with Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). Describing their dynamic as “complicated,” Carrie reflects on their emotional journey, which left fans on a major cliffhanger in the Season 2 finale. The teaser includes intimate glimpses of the couple, even showing Aidan with his children, indicating their story is far from over.
Season 3 will run for 12 episodes, with new installments dropping weekly until the finale on August 14, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Returning cast members include Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, and Mario Cantone, while fresh faces like Rosie O’Donnell, Mehcad Brooks, and Logan Marshall-Green add new energy to the ensemble. Notably, Sara Ramirez and Karen Pittman will not return this season.
Series creator Michael Patrick King emphasized that Aidan’s arc was intentionally designed to give fans long-awaited emotional closure. “He says to her, ‘Can you give me time until Wyatt is out of his teens?’” King shared, referencing Aidan’s plea to focus on parenting before fully committing to Carrie.
While the trailer leaves room for hope, it also teases intriguing plot developments—including the arrival of a mysterious new neighbor in Carrie’s building. “When the plot twists, we can choose to embrace a new chapter,” she says in a voiceover, setting the tone for the upcoming season.
Season 2 ended on a reflective note, with Carrie and Seema (Choudhury) sharing cosmopolitans on a beach in Greece, symbolizing fresh starts and personal growth.
Although Kim Cattrall made a surprise cameo as Samantha Jones last season, the creators confirmed that her appearance was a one-time delight and not a full-fledged return.
And Just Like That is created by Michael Patrick King, with executive producers Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and others on board.
