Mumbai — Actress Ananya Panday shared a heartwarming and personal moment during a recent interview, revealing that she became teary-eyed while watching her younger brother, Ahaan Panday, on the big screen. Ahaan recently made his highly-anticipated debut in the film Saiyaara, starring opposite Aneet Padda.
In a candid conversation with Nod Magazine, Ananya touched upon her own career and the “nepo baby” label. She accepted the tag, stating, “It’s a fact. My dad [Chunky Panday] is an actor and I’m in the industry. It’s not something I’m ashamed of. I’m proud I get to take his legacy forward.” She added that her brother is now also doing the same.
The emotional moment came when she spoke about Ahaan’s debut. Recalling their childhood, she said, “He was the only boy in our cousins’ group, so he was always being forced to play along with us and do our little choreographies.” She always felt he was meant for the screen, but nothing prepared her for her reaction when she saw him on the big screen.
The star of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023) admitted that watching Ahaan was an overwhelming experience. “I thought he looked so good, so expressive with his eyes, just a complete star,” she said. “I don’t usually cry… I’m really not a crier, but when I saw him after the film, I just started howling. For me, it felt like something really big was happening, like a huge shift.”
While Ahaan is just beginning his journey, Ananya is continuing on her own path in the industry. She is preparing for her return to the screen in the second season of Call Me Bae after the release of her last film, Kesari 2, earlier this year. The actress has also been enjoying some well-deserved time off, traveling to Mykonos and Miami, as seen on her social media.
