Mumbai: The animated feature film Mahavatar Narsimha, presented by Hombale Films and produced by Kleem Productions, is proving to be a monumental success, leaving a significant mark on the box office. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film chronicles the epic tale of Prahlad and the rise of Mahavtar Narsimha, captivating audiences and generating an overwhelming word-of-mouth response.
Even in its second week, the film’s box office performance has been astonishing. It saw a massive 100% jump in collections on its second Saturday, bringing in ₹15.4 crore. This remarkable growth from the previous day’s collection of ₹7.7 crore highlights the film’s strong appeal and the audience’s enthusiastic reception. The total collections for the film now stand at over ₹81 crore.
The success of Mahavatar Narsimha is even more impressive given the tough competition it faces from recent major releases, including Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2, Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s Dhadak 2. Despite these new films, the animated feature has out-earned them all in its second week.
This box office triumph marks a significant milestone for Indian animation and is just the beginning of a larger cinematic universe. As the first film in the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, it has already laid the groundwork for future installments. The production houses have announced a lineup of more animated films, with titles like Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), and Mahavatar Kalki (2035–2037) already in the pipeline.
