Amitabh Bachchan Expresses Strong Support For Son Abhishek Amidst Nepotism Debate

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 5 : Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has come out in full support of his son, Abhishek Bachchan, amidst the ongoing discussions surrounding nepotism in the film industry.

The Bollywood icon took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his admiration for his son’s career and personal qualities, defending him against the negativity often associated with the term “nepotism.”

In a series of heartfelt tweets, Amitabh responded to fans who pointed out that Abhishek has been unfairly labeled as a victim of nepotism despite having a successful filmography and several hits under his belt. Amitabh echoed these sentiments, writing, “I feel the same… and not just because I am his father.”

Amitabh also took the opportunity to praise Abhishek’s evolving performances, particularly in his upcoming film Be Happy. Sharing the trailer, he tweeted, “Abhishek, you are extraordinary. How you adapt and change with each film character is an art, which is incredible. Love you, Bhaiyu.”

The legendary actor further complimented his son’s style and presence. After a fan posted a video of Abhishek at an event, where he received accolades for his stunning appearance, Amitabh tweeted, “Superior… Abhishek… stunning… Abhishek… the walk, the grace, and THE STYLE… and no fuss, just a normal being… away from the unnecessary display of excitement or attention-seeking.”

This display of support comes as no surprise, as Amitabh has consistently expressed admiration for his son’s work. Following the release of I Want to Talk, Amitabh wrote in his personal blog how Abhishek’s portrayal of Arjun Sen in the film deeply affected him, stating, “Abhishek… you are not Abhishek… you are ARJUN SEN of the film. Let them say what they say.”

Currently, Amitabh is hosting the 16th season of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), while Abhishek’s most recent film, I Want to Talk, was released last year. Abhishek will next be seen in Be Happy, which premieres on Amazon Prime Video next week.
