Patna (Bihar): Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects in Patna, Bihar, on Sunday. During his address, he took a sharp dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, questioning whether he has a blueprint for Bihar’s development.
📢 “Within the last ten years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked for 60 crore poor people in this country. Today, I challenge the leader of UPA, especially Lalu Yadav—if he has done anything for the poor of Bihar, he should present a blueprint before the people,” Shah said while addressing a public meeting.
Criticism of ‘Jungle Raj’ and Fodder Scam
Shah criticized the RJD-led government from 1990 to 2005, calling it a period of lawlessness and corruption.
📢 “What did Lalu Yadav’s government do for Bihar? His government defamed Bihar through the fodder scam and will always be remembered for ‘Jungle Raj’,” he remarked.
Contrasting this, Shah highlighted the Modi government’s contributions, citing improvements in electricity, gas, water, toilets, medicine, and free food grains for the people of Bihar.
📢 “Modi ji has ensured that people get electricity, gas, clean water, toilets, and medicines. Five kilos of free food per person per month was distributed. Over 4 crore people got homes, and more than 1 crore people received gas cylinders,” he said.
BJP Prepares for 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections
Shah’s two-day visit to Bihar comes as the BJP gears up for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Upon arrival, he held key strategy meetings at the BJP office in Patna with leaders including Giriraj Singh, Ajay Alok, and Sanjay Singh.
After the meeting, BJP leader Giriraj Singh described it as “highly productive,” emphasizing Shah’s guidance in strengthening the party’s election preparations.
BJP leader Ajay Alok lauded Amit Shah’s dedication, stating:
📢 “Amit Shah ji works 18 to 20 hours a day. His visit has energized party workers in Bihar. Our discussions focused only on election strategy and how to ensure a BJP victory.”
As Bihar heads toward a crucial election year, Shah’s visit and his remarks against RJD set the stage for an intense political battle.
