New Delhi [India] : In the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been actively coordinating with Jammu and Kashmir leadership and top security officials. The Indian Army’s response, titled Operation Sindoor, was launched to strike back against the perpetrators of the attack that claimed 26 lives and left many injured.
Amit Shah spoke with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and remains in constant contact with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). Shah has directed BSF officials to implement strict safety measures for residents in border regions.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha conducted a high-level review of the situation in border districts on Tuesday morning. Taking swift action, he instructed District Collectors to relocate people from vulnerable areas and ensure continued access to essential services.
“I’ve also directed the DCs for shifting of villagers from vulnerable areas to safer locations and ensuring boarding, lodging, food, medicare and transportation. We will ensure safety of every citizen. Jai Hind!” the Office of the Lieutenant Governor posted on X.
Sinha reiterated that the administration is fully prepared for any possible escalation. “Took stock of the situation in border districts of J&K UT with all the senior administrative, police and district officials including DCs of all the border districts. I’m closely monitoring the situation and government is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality,” he said.
Earlier, Amit Shah lauded the Indian Army for its decisive response. “Proud of our armed forces. Operation Sindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” he posted on X.
According to officials, India has executed precision strikes deep inside undisputed Pakistani territory and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), marking the country’s most significant military action across the border since the 1971 war. The targeted operations focused on dismantling terror infrastructure in the region.
