New Delhi [India], March 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the decision of two organizations affiliated with the Hurriyat Conference to sever their ties with separatism in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a “significant victory” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a peaceful and united India.
Shah’s remarks followed the announcement made by the two Hurriyat-linked groups, marking a major shift in the political landscape of the region. In a post on his ‘X’ handle, Shah stated, “Separatism has become history in Kashmir. The unifying policies of the Modi government have thrown separatism out of Jammu and Kashmir. Two organizations associated with the Hurriyat have announced the severing of all ties with separatism.”
He further emphasized, “I welcome this step towards strengthening Bharat’s unity and urge all such groups to come forward and shed separatism once and for all. It is a big victory for PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of building a developed, peaceful, and unified Bharat.”
This development is seen as part of a broader shift in Jammu and Kashmir’s political environment, which has witnessed a series of measures over the past few years aimed at curbing separatist activities. These include the strict enforcement of anti-terror laws and socio-economic reforms.
Officials believe this decision marks a crucial turning point, signaling further steps toward integration and peace in the Union Territory.
