New Delhi [India], December 20 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday regarding the tragic fire accident in the Bhankrota area of Jaipur district that claimed at least four lives.
During their telephonic conversation, Shah took detailed stock of the situation surrounding the fire, which occurred early on Friday on the Jaipur-Ajmer Road. The fire broke out following multiple vehicle collisions near a petrol pump, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and the destruction of nearly 40 vehicles, including trucks and trolleys.
Shah expressed deep concern over the incident, with authorities continuing their efforts to extinguish the flames. Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the site and assured the public that all necessary help would be provided. “The government will provide all the necessary help… We have issued a helpline. This is a tragic incident. I have been informed that around 4 people have died,” Sharma said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar described the incident as a horrific accident, noting that nearly two dozen vehicles were engulfed in flames. “The fire started due to a collision involving several vehicles one after another,” SP Kumar explained, adding that efforts were underway to bring the fire under control.
Jaipur District Magistrate Jitendra Soni also visited the scene, confirming that four people had died in the tragedy. “Around 40 vehicles caught fire. Fire brigades and ambulances have reached the spot, and relief work is ongoing. The fire has been mostly extinguished, with only one or two vehicles left burning. Approximately 23-24 people were injured in the incident,” Soni stated.
