Mumbai, India – Actor Ambika Ranjankar, best known for her role as Komal Hathi in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has put an end to fan speculation about her exit from the show. Her recent absence from several episodes had led to rumors circulating on social media that she was the latest cast member to leave the long-running series.
In a conversation with a media outlet, Ranjankar clarified the situation, stating, “No, I haven’t quit the show. I am very much a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.” She attributed her temporary absence to personal matters, explaining, “For some personal reasons, I was away. I needed some time for myself.”
Ranjankar has been a part of the show since its inception and is a central character in the beloved Gokuldham Society. Her confirmation of her continued role on the show will come as a relief to fans who have seen several other key actors, including Disha Vakani (Daya) and Shailesh Lodha (Taarak Mehta), depart the series over the years.
The show, which has been on air for over 17 years, continues to be one of India’s most watched sitcoms. The ensemble cast, which includes Dilip Joshi, Nirmal Soni, Munmun Dutta, and Amit Bhatt, continues to entertain audiences with its slice-of-life humor. Recently, the makers of TMKOC introduced a new family, the Binjolas, into the storyline, which includes Kuldeep Gor as Ratan Binjola and Dharti Bhatt as his wife, Rupa Baditop.
