NEW YORK – On Wednesday, a lot of people couldn’t utilize Amazon Prime Video, which made it hard for people who were trying to stream video. According to information from the outage tracking site Down Detector, some 3,600 people in the US said they were having problems with the service.
The reports said that the outage was mostly due to problems with video streaming, which 95% of customers said was the case. Down Detector gets its information from problem reports sent in by users, which gives it a real-time view of service outages. Amazon hasn’t said anything official about what caused the outage yet, but these kinds of difficulties can happen for a number of reasons, such as problems with the server, problems with the network connection, or bugs in the application’s code that only happen for a short time.
The fact that it went down on a weekday shows how hard it is for big streaming businesses to keep their services running smoothly for all of its users. As more and more families utilize these platforms for entertainment, even short disruptions can cause a lot of complaints from customers.
