Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 25: Amazon Prime Video has officially revealed the premiere date for the highly anticipated horror thriller, Chhorii 2. The sequel, starring Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan in the lead roles, is set to release worldwide on April 11, 2025.
Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii 2 will also feature Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma in key roles. The film follows the success of the 2021 film Chhorii, which captivated audiences with its chilling storyline and cultural folklore. The sequel promises to elevate the supernatural horror genre with a gripping story of a mother’s battle against paranormal forces and societal evils.
Manish Menghani, Director of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, reflected on the success of the original film and expressed excitement about taking the franchise to new heights. “With Chhorii, we introduced audiences to a story that was emotionally powerful and deeply intriguing. The sequel will go even further, with a darker, more intense narrative full of twists and turns,” he said.
The film is produced under the banners of T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, and Tamarisk Lane Production. Vikram Malhotra, CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, shared that the overwhelming success of the first film inspired the creation of Chhorii 2, where the horror intensifies, and the stakes become more personal. “With Vishal returning as director, Nushrratt reprising her role as Sakshi, and Soha in a new avatar, we’re eager for fans to experience this thrilling new chapter,” Malhotra stated.
Chhorii 2 builds upon the foundation of the first film, which blended fear with folklore in an innovative way. Fans are now set to embark on an even more intense, suspense-filled journey when the film drops in April 2025.
