Beroun [Czech Republic], June 22: Indian golfer Amandeep Drall delivered a stunning performance in the opening round of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, carding a brilliant 8-under 64 to top the leaderboard. This marks her career-best round on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and gives her a one-shot lead after day one.
Drall, who previously came close to clinching her maiden LET title in 2022 at home, recorded nine birdies against a single bogey at the Royal Beroun Golf Club. “I’m very happy, especially after missing the cut in Belgium last week,” said Amandeep. “Line reading was the biggest change. Last week, I struck the ball well but was completely lost on the greens. This time, I focused hard on my putting – on the stroke and reading the lines – and it paid off.”
This event marks only her second LET appearance of the season due to earlier visa issues. She teed off for the first time in 2025 at the Hulencourt Women’s Open. Her stellar comeback effort included a streak of four consecutive birdies on the 13th to 16th holes.
Among other Indian golfers, rookie Hitaashee Bakshi impressed with a solid 4-under 68, placing her in a tie for 12th. Meanwhile, Diksha Dagar bounced back from an early setback to finish 2-under 70 (T-43). Avani Prashanth, who had an early surge, ended at 1-under 71 (T-63).
Other Indian scores included Tvesa Malik and Neha Tripathi at even-par 72 (T-81), Sneha Singh at 1-over 73 (T-94), and Vani Kapoor at 2-over 74 (T-106).
Close on Drall’s heels is veteran English golfer Florentyna Parker, who shot a bogey-free 65 on her 36th birthday. Joining her at 7-under is Lianna Bailey, while LET rookie Esme Hamilton and Alexandra Swayne follow closely at 6-under 66.
The leaderboard is shaping up for a tight contest heading into the weekend rounds.
