Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 14: Allu Arjun, the popular Telugu film actor, was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 13, following his arrest in connection with a tragic incident during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule at the Sandhya Theatre on December 4.
The actor had been arrested after a chaotic crowd gathered outside the theatre to see him, which led to the death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her son.
The police alleged that the situation escalated due to the actor’s actions, specifically when he waved at the crowd from the sunroof of his vehicle, prompting his security personnel to push the crowd away. The police further claimed that Allu Arjun’s team was made aware of the dangerous situation but did not act promptly to address the crowd, which led to the tragic incident. Initially sent to judicial custody, the actor was granted bail after furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
Upon his release, Allu Arjun expressed his gratitude to his fans and supporters. He thanked them for their love and emphasized that he is a law-abiding citizen who will cooperate with authorities. The actor also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, describing the incident as an unfortunate accident. He reiterated his support for the family affected by the tragedy.
