Cannes [France], May 24: The 78th Cannes Film Festival was graced by a delightful encounter between global icons Alia Bhatt and Simone Ashley, who united at a L’Oréal promotional event on the scenic French Riviera.
Marking her much-anticipated debut at the prestigious festival, Alia Bhatt captivated onlookers in a custom-made Schiaparelli gown. The off-shoulder ensemble, made of ecru Chantilly lace and adorned with hand-embroidered organza and enamel flowers, was elegantly styled by Rhea Kapoor. Her look was completed with a sleek bun featuring artistically styled edges and radiant, dewy makeup.
During a L’Oréal photo opportunity, Alia met fellow brand ambassador Simone Ashley, widely recognized for her role in Netflix’s Bridgerton. Simone looked elegant in a classic Vivienne Westwood ensemble, embodying timeless charm and sophistication. A viral moment between the two stars, where they were seen smiling warmly and admiring each other, was widely shared by fan accounts across social media.

Alia was initially slated to appear during the festival’s opening ceremony but delayed her travel due to India-Pakistan tensions. She confirmed her participation during a press meet on her birthday in March, expressing both excitement and nervousness about the big debut.
“This is going to be my first year at Cannes, so I’m very nervous and very excited,” Alia shared. “I’m also experimenting with new makeup looks and videos. I even posted a makeup tutorial at the beginning of the year. Now my team is like, ‘Why not try something you’ve never done before—like blue or pink eyeshadow?’”
