Alia Bhatt Condemns ‘Invasion of Privacy’ After Viral Video Of Her Under-Construction Home

Alia Bhatt has publicly condemned the viral circulation of a video showing the interior and exterior of her private residence in Pali Hill, the six-storey Krishna Raj bungalow. The actress released an official statement on social media, labeling the unauthorized filming a “clear invasion of privacy” and a “serious security issue.”

The video, which reportedly gave viewers a full look at the multi-crore mansion’s construction, was widely shared by publications and on social media platforms. In her statement, Bhatt stated that the video was recorded and circulated “without our knowledge or consent.” She emphasized that filming or photographing a person’s private space without permission is not “content,” but a “violation” that should not be normalized.

A Larger Debate on Privacy

Bhatt’s statement has ignited a debate among fans and social media users. While many supported her stance, agreeing that such an act is a breach of privacy and a security risk, others were divided. Some users on Reddit questioned the couple’s previous actions, pointing out that they have been frequently photographed visiting the under-construction site in the past.

Despite the criticism, Bhatt’s post concluded with a direct and firm request: “Think about it: would you tolerate videos of the inside of your home being shared publicly, without you knowing? None of us would.” She urged fans not to share such content and called on media outlets to immediately take down the videos and images.

The incident highlights a growing concern among celebrities in India regarding personal privacy, particularly with the rise of social media and increasingly intrusive paparazzi culture. Several high-profile couples, including Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, and Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, have also adopted “no-photo” policies for their children to protect their privacy.
