Alec Baldwin To Host Historical Podcast ‘The Ides Of April’ On Lincoln’s Final Days

Washington DC [US], July 15: Actor Alec Baldwin is set to host and executive produce The Ides of April, a new eight-episode historical audio drama exploring one of the most turbulent periods in American history — the 17 days in April 1865 that began with the Confederate surrender at Appomattox and ended with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

Speaking about the project, Baldwin said, as per Variety, “This is one of the most extraordinary American stories ever told, and one that still echoes through our country’s political DNA. It’s a privilege to bring these voices — and this chaos — to life.”

The series is written and produced by Branden Morgan, creator of The Devil Within, who expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with Baldwin.

“I’m thrilled to join forces with Alec Baldwin,” Morgan said. “He’s a pioneering voice in the podcast industry, and his work on this show is extraordinary. This series is bold, cinematic, and full of the emotional weight this moment in history deserves.”

The Ides of April features immersive sound design and gripping narration to transport listeners into a time of deep national crisis and conspiracy. The episodes were recorded at CDM Studios in Manhattan with sound design by Zach McNees.

The podcast is a production of Evio Creative, a new storytelling studio, with executive producers Matt DelPiano, Branden Morgan, and Baldwin. Ad sales are being managed by Ben Watson’s Impressions.FM.

Set for release on July 23, the series will be available across all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
