Al Pacino Meets Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican During Visit With ‘Maserati: The Brothers’ Film Team

New Delhi, India – June 17: Oscar-winning actor Al Pacino met with Pope Leo XIV on Monday at the Vatican, marking a historic first official audience between the first American Pope and a Hollywood movie star, as reported by Variety.

Pacino was accompanied by the production team of his upcoming film ‘Maserati: The Brothers’, directed by Robert Moresco and produced by Andrea Iervolino. The private audience at the Holy See centered on the shared values of faith, family, and compassion, which form the core of both the Catholic Church and the narrative of the upcoming film.

Producer Iervolino stated:

“This morning His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in a private audience a delegation from the film Maserati: The Brothers, including Oscar winner Al Pacino and myself. The meeting was a moment of profound spiritual and cultural inspiration, centered around shared values—family unity, love, compassion, and the common good.”

He added that these principles also echo the legacy of the Maserati family, built on mutual respect, solidarity, innovation, and a shared vision—a theme that is central to the film.

According to Italian media, Pacino arrived in Rome on Sunday via private jet from New York.

Pacino joined the cast of Maserati: The Brothers in May and plays Vincenzo Vaccaro, a key investor in the early days of the Maserati automobile empire.

The film is currently being shot in Italy and boasts a star-studded international cast including:

  • Anthony Hopkins
  • Andy Garcia
  • Jessica Alba
  • Michele Morrone
  • Salvatore Esposito
  • Lorenzo De Moor

With a focus on family, legacy, and industrial innovation, Maserati: The Brothers is positioned as a powerful biopic blending cinematic drama with historical richness.
