Akshay Kumar Opens Up About His Love For Charlie Chaplin, Shows His Photograph In His Wallet

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, known for his impeccable comic timing, once again paid tribute to his comedic idol Charlie Chaplin during the trailer launch event of his upcoming film ‘Housefull 5’ in Mumbai.

Speaking to the media, Akshay expressed his enduring admiration for the iconic silent-era legend and revealed that he carries a picture of Charlie Chaplin in his wallet as a source of inspiration.

“Slapstick comedy is not easy,” Akshay said. “Nana sahab, Riteish, Abhishek — all of us have done a lot of comedy, and we can vouch that it is physically demanding. The comedy in Housefull 5 is slapstick mixed with action — it’s physical, just like the kind Chaplin mastered. I’m a huge fan of Charlie Chaplin.”

When he offered to show the audience the photo he carries, the media responded enthusiastically. Akshay then pulled out a black-and-white picture of Chaplin from his wallet, delighting the crowd.

Chaplin’s Lasting Impact

Chaplin, whose iconic “Little Tramp” character made him a global sensation, had a prolific career that spanned over 65 years. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in cinematic history. His legacy endures through generations of artists, and Akshay Kumar is among those who openly acknowledge his impact.

Chaplin’s contribution to film was globally recognized when he received a record 12-minute standing ovation at the 1972 Academy Awards, underscoring the timeless appeal of his artistry.
