New Delhi, India – July 26, 2025 – Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar made a spectacular return to the runway after a considerable hiatus, captivating all eyes as he closed the show for celebrated designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock on Day 3 of the ongoing Hyundai India Couture Week (ICW) 2025. His appearance marked a highly anticipated comeback to the fashion stage after an estimated 12 years.
Dressed in a meticulously tailored sharp ivory sherwani, adorned with intricate silk thread embroidery and gold detailing, Akshay Kumar embodied a truly regal presence. The ensemble was perfectly complemented by well-fitted white trousers and shining silver-detailed juttis, creating a look that was both modern and steeped in traditional elegance. Completing his signature style, he donned stylish black shades and delivered his characteristic walk, bringing his renowned “desi swag” to the prestigious platform. The collection, titled “Raj Mahal Bijoux – The Palace of Jewels,” by Falguni Shane Peacock, was inspired by India’s rich history, opulent palaces, and garden aesthetics, blending heritage with high fashion.

The Hyundai India Couture Week 2025, presented in association with Reliance Brands and an initiative of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), commenced on a grand note on Wednesday, July 23. The inaugural show featured ace designer Rahul Mishra’s exquisite collection, with Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia gracing the ramp as the showstopper. The week-long fashion extravaganza, showcasing the mastery and evolution of Indian couture, is set to conclude on July 30 with a grand finale presented by JJ Valaya.
Other esteemed couturiers participating in this 18th edition of ICW include Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani, Ritu Kumar, Amit Aggarwal, Shantnu & Nikhil, Suneet Varma, Rimzim Dadu, Jayanti Reddy, Rose Room by Isha Jajodia, and Aisha Rao, all presenting their latest couture collections at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar has several projects in the pipeline. In the coming months, he is slated to appear in Priyadarshan’s film Bhooth Bangla. This film is being produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R. Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, in collaboration with Akshay Kumar’s own production house, Cape of Good Films. Bhooth Bangla is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026. He also has Jolly LLB 3, Haiwaan, Hera Pheri 3, and Welcome to the Jungle in his upcoming film slate.
Akshay Kumar, who is known for his disciplined lifestyle and early bedtimes, playfully acknowledged the late hour after the show. When speaking to the media around 11 PM on Friday night, he quipped, “Kaafi late nahi ho gaya hai?” (Isn’t it quite late?), a remark that drew laughter from the assembled press. He expressed his enjoyment of the experience and appreciation for the immense hard work involved in organizing such a grand show.
