Amritsar (Punjab) [India], April 14: As part of the promotions for their upcoming film Kesari Chapter 2, actors Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday visited the Golden Temple on Monday to seek blessings.
Sharing a serene photo from the sacred visit, Akshay posted on Instagram: “Sir jhukaya, sukun paya” (Head bowed, found peace).
In the photo, the trio is seen offering prayers with folded hands at the revered site in Amritsar.
Ananya Panday also shared a heartfelt moment from the visit, captioning her post: “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh #KesariChapter2.”
The upcoming film, Kesari Chapter 2, is centered around the Jallianwala Bagh massacre — a tragic and defining moment in India’s struggle for independence.
Akshay Kumar will portray C. Sankaran Nair, the famed lawyer and nationalist who challenged British rule following the massacre.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar, the film is scheduled for release on April 18.
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which took place on April 13, 1919, saw British forces under Brigadier General Reginald Dyer open fire on a peaceful crowd protesting the Rowlatt Act and demanding the release of leaders Dr. Satyapal and Dr. Saifuddin Kitchlew. Official British records claimed 291 deaths, but Indian leaders like Madan Mohan Malviya estimated the toll to be over 500.
The first installment, Kesari (2019), depicted the heroic Battle of Saragarhi, starring Akshay Kumar alongside Parineeti Chopra.
