Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], January 14: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar took a break from his shooting schedule for his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla to celebrate Makar Sankranti on set in Rajasthan.
The actor shared a heartwarming video on Instagram, where he is seen flying a kite with his co-star Paresh Rawal. “Celebrating the vibrant spirit of Makar Sankranti on the set of #BhoothBangla with my dear friend @pareshrawalofficial! Here’s to laughter, good vibes, and soaring high just like the kites! And sending my best wishes for a joyous Pongal, Uttarayan and Bihu,” Akshay wrote in the caption.
Makar Sankranti, celebrated on January 14 each year, is a festival marked by kite flying in many parts of India. It is believed that flying kites during the festival awakens the gods, who had been resting through the winter months.
Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy film directed by Priyadarshan, is a significant project for Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Tabu, who recently shared her excitement about joining the cast by posting a picture of the film’s clapboard. The actress teased the movie on Instagram with the caption, “Hum yahan bandh hain,” meaning “We are locked here,” sparking curiosity among fans.
The movie marks a long-awaited reunion between Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, who have collaborated on several successful films in the past, including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Bhooth Bangla promises to add another feather to the duo’s successful collaboration in the horror-comedy genre, a space Akshay has excelled in with hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Tabu, known for her powerful performances in films like Andhadhun and Haider, is expected to bring a unique depth to the film’s ensemble cast.
Bhooth Bangla is being produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms in association with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films production house. The film is slated for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026.
