Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], March 13: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, referring to him as a “Tees Maar Khan” and accusing him of frequently using the number 30 in his statements. Yadav’s comments were in response to the recent decision by local authorities to cover several mosques with tarpaulin sheets ahead of the Holi festival, a move aimed at preventing any untoward incidents and ensuring communal harmony during the celebrations.
Yadav expressed concern over the administration’s actions and emphasized that people from all communities have always celebrated festivals together. During a press conference, Yadav said, “I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of Holi. This is a festival of colors that brings joy and happiness. We hope that the Ganga-Yamuna tradition of our country continues, and that people live together in brotherhood as they have for many years. People from all communities have always celebrated festivals together, and we are all connected through these celebrations and the businesses that accompany them.”
The SP chief then took aim at CM Yogi Adityanath, sarcastically calling him “Tees Maar Khan” due to his frequent use of the number 30. He said, “Our Chief Minister is Tees Maar Khan because he loves the number 30. The number of people who died was 30, and the economic activity amounted to Rs 30 crores… No one can give us the account of Tees Maar Khan except our Chief Minister.”
On the issue of demolitions in the state, Yadav criticized the government for not following the directions issued by the Supreme Court. “The Supreme Court has given directions many times, making important observations on bulldozer actions. Yet, the government is not willing to listen. I hope the Supreme Court will provide justice. Even the public is noticing that the Constitution is not safe under BJP rule,” he added.
Yadav also predicted a significant loss for the BJP in the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, stating, “Many things are being covered up to hide others. CM Yogi says that youth got employment by riding their bikes in Prayagraj. If that’s the case, when did the government decide to use personal vehicles as commercial? Does this mean that after 144 years, these youths will finally get employment? No one lies more than the BJP, and some of their allies support them too. They lost in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and they will lose very badly in 2027.”
