Actor Akanksha Chamola, wife of Bigg Boss 19 winner and television star Gaurav Khanna, has reacted after facing heavy trolling on social media over a dance video from a promotional event.
Videos from promotions of Dil Dhokha Aur Desire recently surfaced online, showing Akanksha dancing with co-stars Kunwar Amar and Ali Hasan. In one clip, she is seen sharing playful dance moments with the actors, including a hug sequence, which triggered speculation among some users about trouble in her marriage.
The actor addressed the backlash by reposting a video of influencer Jayati Unscripted, who questioned why people were excessively judging Akanksha for doing her professional work. The influencer pointed out that audiences often accept male actors performing romantic or intimate scenes on screen, but scrutinise a female actor’s actions in real life.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Akanksha supported the message and wrote that it represented “feminine energy at its peak.” The post indirectly called out what many described as double standards faced by women in the entertainment industry.
In another Instagram Story, she also shared a clip from an earlier interview emphasising that loyalty is the most basic expectation in a relationship, appearing to dismiss rumours about problems in her marriage with Gaurav Khanna.
This is not the first time she has been targeted online. Earlier too, she was criticised for a dance video with Bigg Boss 19 contestant Awez Darbar, after which speculation about a separation began circulating. Akanksha has since firmly denied such rumours.
Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola married in 2016, and despite recurring online chatter, the couple has continued to maintain that their relationship remains strong.
