A viral video of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar having a furious argument with a female IPS officer has caused a lot of talk, and the politician has had to explain himself to the public. Pawar wrote on X (previously Twitter) that he did not want to get in the way of law enforcement but rather to calm things down on the ground.
What Was the Video About?
The event took place in Solapur and was about a fight against illicit sand mining. A viral video shows Pawar arguing with Sheela Dhuri, an IPS officer who was in charge of stopping the illegal mining operations. The video, which has been shared a lot on social media, shows Pawar yelling at Dhuri. She calmly said she was just doing her job. People have spoken out against Pawar for trying to pressure the cop and get in the way of her work.
Pawar’s Explanation and the Official Answer
Pawar said in his post that he had “high respect” for the police, including women officers, and that he would keep his promise to be open about how he runs the government. He made it clear that he was merely trying to keep things calm and wasn’t breaking the law. Pawar has talked about the video, but Sheela Dhuri, the IPS officer, has not said anything in public. The Solapur Police Commissioner, on the other hand, has backed Dhuri, saying that she was following established procedures and that the department supports her efforts to stop illicit activity.
