Ajaz Khan Booked For Rape After Woman Alleges Assault and False Promise Of Marriage

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : Actor Ajaz Khan has been booked by the Charkop Police in Mumbai following a serious allegation of rape filed by a woman. The complaint states that Khan sexually assaulted her under the pretext of marriage and offering a role in his web series.

According to the woman’s statement, Khan invited her to be a part of his show House Arrest, which is currently streaming on the Ullu app. During the shoot, he allegedly proposed to her and promised marriage, claiming he would convert to her religion. The woman further alleged that she was invited to Khan’s residence, where the assault took place.

Police have registered a case against Ajaz Khan under Sections 64, 64(2)(M), 69, and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Ajaz Khan, who is known for his controversial persona, has been under fire for his involvement in House Arrest, a reality show that has attracted criticism from several political and social groups for its “vulgar” content. The show, launched on April 11, 2025, is described as an uncensored version of popular captive reality formats such as Bigg Boss and Lock Upp. It features 12 contestants — nine women and three men — living together in a luxury villa and undertaking provocative tasks.

In light of the growing concerns, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Ajaz Khan and Vibhu Agarwal, CEO of the Ullu app, over the alleged vulgar and coercive content on the platform. Both have been directed to appear before the Commission on May 9.

Additionally, the Supreme Court recently issued a notice to the Centre and several OTT and social media platforms — including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Alt Balaji, Ullu, ALTT, X (formerly Twitter), Meta, Google, Mubi, and Apple — in response to a PIL seeking stricter regulation of obscene content online. The court termed the matter as one of “important concern.”
