Bollywood star Ajay Devgn officially announced on Saturday that the sequel to his 2019 romantic comedy, “De De Pyaar De 2,” will hit theaters on November 14, 2025.
Devgn shared a motion poster for the film, revealing that the second installment will be titled ‘Pyaar Vs Parivaar’ and picking up the core theme of the new conflict: seeking parental approval.
A Sequel to ‘Love is Ageless’
The sequel brings back Devgn as Ashish Mehra, a wealthy 50-year-old NRI, and Rakul Preet Singh as his much-younger girlfriend, Ayesha Khurana. Their age-gap relationship was the central conflict of the first film, which focused on Ashish introducing Ayesha to his estranged family and ex-wife, Manju (Tabu).
Sharing the news on Instagram, Devgn teased the plot twist for the second part:
“Pyaar ka sequel hai crucial! Kya Ashish ko milega Ayesha ke parents ka approval? #PyaarVsParivaar #DeDePyaarDe2 in cinemas 14th November, 2025,” he posted.
R. Madhavan Joins the Cast
The film, directed by Anshul Sharma, will see the couple face Ayesha’s family, who are reportedly not thrilled about the age difference.
Joining the lead pair is a fresh ensemble cast, including R Madhavan, who is rumored to play Ayesha’s father. The cast also features father-son duo Jaaved Jaaferi and Meezaan Jafri, along with Gautami Kapoor and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles, setting the stage for a new family clash.
The original film, “De De Pyaar De,” was a box-office success for its lighthearted take on age-gap romance. The sequel is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, and Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg of Luv Films.
