Bangkok [Thailand], June 13: An Air India flight en route from Phuket, Thailand to New Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing after receiving a bomb threat on Friday, according to airport officials cited by Reuters.
The flight, AI 379, had departed from Phuket International Airport at 9:30 AM local time and was headed to India’s capital when the threat was reported. As a precaution, the aircraft was promptly diverted and has now safely landed back at Phuket International Airport.
Authorities at the airport confirmed that standard bomb threat procedures, as outlined in the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP), were activated immediately after the threat was received. Security personnel are currently inspecting the aircraft and further investigations are underway.
