Phuket/Delhi | June 14, 2025 — Air India Flight AI 379, en route from Phuket to Delhi, made an emergency landing in Phuket on Friday morning following a bomb threat received on board, officials confirmed. The flight was carrying 156 passengers at the time of the incident.
According to a spokesperson from Airports of Thailand (AOT), the aircraft landed safely and authorities immediately implemented emergency protocols.
“Flight AI 379 had landed, and the airport was proceeding with emergency plans,” an AOT official told Reuters.
“Passengers were escorted off the plane in accordance with standard emergency procedures.”
Flight data from Flightradar24 showed the aircraft taking off from Phuket at 9:30 AM (local time) and making a wide loop over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket airport.
Following a thorough preliminary search, authorities did not find any explosives on board the aircraft. However, a more detailed investigation is underway to identify the source and credibility of the threat.
Air India has yet to release an official statement about the incident. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
