Madurai (Tamil Nadu) [India]: Former minister and AIADMK leader Sellur K Raju has accused the BJP and DMK of secretly collaborating on the three-language policy, claiming that both parties are misleading the people of Tamil Nadu.
“The BJP and DMK are clearly in a secret alliance regarding the three-language policy. Udhayanidhi Stalin and Annamalai are fooling the Tamil Nadu people as if they are putting on a staged fight,” Sellur K Raju stated.
The AIADMK leader made these remarks during a public meeting and welfare assistance distribution event in Madurai Mahaboopalayam, organized to commemorate former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s 77th birthday.
Criticism of DMK’s Governance
Sellur K Raju emphasized the role of the AIADMK government in expanding higher education opportunities in Tamil Nadu, enabling students to excel globally. He credited Jayalalithaa for initiatives like providing laptops to students and cited her recognition by Mother Teresa as a “protector of girl children.”
He further alleged that Karunanidhi once labeled people wearing wristbands as terrorists, yet DMK continues to receive votes from the Muslim community.
“What welfare schemes has the DMK implemented for minorities? Stalin has failed to fulfill his election promises over the past four years, particularly his promise to reduce petrol, diesel, and gas prices,” he said.
Rising Prices and Corruption Allegations
The AIADMK leader accused the DMK government of:
- Failing to protect law enforcement personnel, questioning their claim of winning “200 seats.”
- Increasing electricity tariffs by 52% while failing to attract foreign investments despite a 16-day overseas tour by CM Stalin.
- Engaging in corruption with many ministers out on bail.
- Delaying justice in cases like the Vengaivayal overhead tank sewage contamination and Anna University sexual assault cases.
“They incite communal tensions to divert people from real issues. Today, people are even taxed for owning dogs and cats in their homes. In the future, they might even impose a tax for walking on the streets. AIADMK took a loan of Rs 3.5 lakh crore in 10 years, whereas DMK borrowed Rs 5 lakh crore in just 5 years. They are continuously preparing to deceive the people,” he added.
CM Stalin’s Response
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin addressed the people through a video message on X, urging them to rise against the delimitation of constituencies and the three-language policy.
“Today, Tamil Nadu is confronting two critical challenges—the battle for language, which is our lifeline, and the fight against delimitation, which is our right. I earnestly urge you to convey the true essence of our battle to the people. Constituency delimitation directly impacts our state’s self-respect, social justice, and welfare schemes for the people. Every individual must rise to defend our state,” Stalin said.
The ongoing political tensions in Tamil Nadu highlight a heated battle over language, governance, and election strategies, as key parties position themselves ahead of the next elections.
