The makers of the much-anticipated reunion film starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have clarified that no artificial intelligence was used in the project’s announcement promo.
After the teaser — which also featured director Nelson Dilipkumar and composer Anirudh Ravichander — was released, social media was abuzz with speculation that portions of it, including background models, were AI-generated.
To put an end to the rumours, Red Giant Movies shared a behind-the-scenes video showing the actors shooting on set. The footage captures crew members, extras moving around naturally, and the two superstars sharing a hug after filming. The caption read: “Lights. Camera. Action. A sneak peek into the making of #KHxRK promo.”
Fans quickly rallied behind the team, calling out those who had claimed the promo was AI-made and praising the effort and craftsmanship involved in the shoot.
Reunion After 47 Years
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan last appeared together in Ninaithale Inikkum, directed by K. Balachander. Over the years, they also shared screen space in films such as Apoorva Raagangal, Anthuleni Katha and Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu.
The new project, helmed by Nelson, marks their reunion after nearly five decades — a collaboration that has generated massive excitement among fans. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is also working on Jailer 2 with the same director.
With the AI debate now settled, attention has shifted back to what audiences are truly waiting for — watching two of Indian cinema’s biggest legends share the screen once again.
