Singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani has shared a candid reflection on life, success, and contentment, following the recent retirement announcement of fellow singer Arijit Singh. Posting on Instagram on Thursday, Dadlani emphasized that “success does not guarantee peace or contentment” and urged people to live in the moment.
In his note, Dadlani wrote:
“Learn anything? Success does not guarantee peace or contentment. Riches & power don’t guarantee safety. Life is strange, life is short. Don’t waste a single moment lying to yourself about yourself. Don’t try to be what somebody else said you must be! Live. Fully. Best advice I can give.”
He added in the caption, “All we truly have is the thin sliver of ‘now’ that exists between memory and hope,” highlighting the importance of embracing the present rather than chasing external validation.
The message comes shortly after Arijit Singh announced his decision to retire from playback singing, thanking fans for their support over the years. Arijit, known for iconic tracks like Tum Hi Ho, Channa Mereya, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Raabta, and Kesariya, said:
“I am happy to announce that I am not going to be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. It was a wonderful journey.”
Vishal Dadlani, meanwhile, has had a prolific career both as part of the composer duo Vishal-Shekhar and as a lead singer. His work spans blockbuster films such as Om Shanti Om, Anjaana Anjaani, Dostana, Bang Bang, Sultan, Student of the Year, and War. As a singer, he has delivered hits including Dhoom Again, Jee Le Zara, Swag Se Swagat, Bala, and Khuda Hafiz.
